DIVING EQUIPMENT RENTAL

The rental of gear hire is available on all Taka Trips. You can opt to book this initially with your trip charge or you can organise the gear on board TAKA. All gear fitting is done onboard the vessel on the first evening at the same time as your certification details are checked. We use only high quality BCD’s, Regulators and Dive Computers.

Full Gear Hire Package Includes

• Mask
• Fins
• Snorkel
• 5mm Shortie Wetsuit, we also have hoods and jackets available upon request
• Regulator
• BCD
• Computer (optional) However, due to multi-level diving we recommend the use of a dive computer to ensure you receive the most out of your dives.
• Tanks, Weights, Torches, Cylume sticks and safety kits are all included in the tour cost.

In Australia we use Yoke fittings to connect the regulator to the tank.
If you are using DIN fitting gear, you will need the appropriate adapter. The Taka Dive shop has these for sale at $85AUD or alternatively you can rent the Din converter on board for $20AUD per trip.

PLEASE NOTE:

1. If you are bringing your own gear, Queensland law requires all divers to dive with an alternate air source. Eg. 2nd Octopus
2. If your buddy is using a computer, you will be required to rent a separate computer to accurately record your dives. Although we do not recommend the usage of tables due to multi-level diving, you can use the tables, but both divers of the buddy pair must use tables.

UNDERWATER PHOTOGRAPHY

Underwater photo and video services are supplied on each Taka trip by Scubapix. The Photo/Video Pro offers a range of services on board Taka:

• Underwater digital camera hire
• Souvenir DVD filmed during the dive trip
• CD of over 150 digital photos taken on each trip
• Underwater photography courses
• Memory card download & CD burning service

DIGITAL CAMERA HIRE

Digital Camera Packages are available for hire from as little as A$150. These are available on a ‘per trip basisE The cameras can be hired onboard, or pre-booked to guarantee your camera will be waiting for you. There are more advanced systems available at a slightly higher cost. (Please contact rentals@scubapix.com for your needs)  Assistance is available from the Photo Pro for divers with their own digital cameras.  The Photo Pro can download your memory card and burn your photos onto CD (A$15 per CD).

VIDEO

DVD 

All of the underwater action is filmed at the Cod Hole (both trips), Osprey Reef (5-day trip only) and the Ribbon Reefs to create a video of your dive trip (approx. 55 min.). The day’s video footage is shown each evening on Taka’s large plasma screens.  This video is for sale at the end of each trip.

DVD (DVD-R format): A$125 (available in PAL or NTSC) 

PHOTO CD

The Photo/Video Pro uses a housed digital camera to photograph the reef, marine life and divers throughout the dive trip.  Over 150 photos are put onto the CD, which is available for purchase at the end of the tour
